Óbidos is a town in western Portugal.

The town is dominated by a old medieval fortress with a portion of the town located within the castle walls.

  • Clock Tower

  • Mother Church of Saint Mary

  • Municipal Museum, located in the old Council Chamber House

Things to do

  • Walk the 1.5km walls of the fortress

Get out

  • Óbidos Lagoon is located a short distance outside the town.

  • Berlengas islands off Peniche.

  • Leiria, Lisboa, Queluz, Sesimbra, Almada, Caparica, Estoril/Cascais.
