Just 20 kilometers from Lisbon, you'll discover a seaside resort full of natural beauties and with a rich heritage. Initially, Estoril was a small spa location and it became a prime residence for several European royal exiles, like King Umberto II of Italy, Karl Hapsburg of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and King Carol of Romania.

The resort is home to Casino Estoril, famous for being a gathering spot for espionage agents, royals, and wartime adventurers during the World War II. It was also an inspiration for Ian Fleming when writing the novel 'Casino Royale'.
