Sunlover Reef Cruises operates a fast, air-conditioned catamaran to a large pontoon (floating platform) located at pristine Moore Reef on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, 40km from Cairns. Complete with complimentary snorkel equipment, glass bottom boat, semi-submersible coral viewing vessel, an underwater observatory, marine life touch tank, and optional extras including Scuba Diving, Guided Snorkeling Safari and Seawalker Helmet Diving. Sunlover Reef Cruises offers value for money to enhance people’s experience, regardless of age and ability, to discover beauty and diversity of the Great Barrier Reef. Even if you cannot swim you will still enjoy a complete experience with Sunlover Reef Cruises.

We give you approximately four hours to explore the outer reef from our Moore Reef pontoon, so you will have plenty of time to be amazed and inspired by the unsurpassed beauty and splendor of this underwater playground. You'll travel onboard our comfortable air-conditioned catamaran, which departs daily from the Reef Fleet Terminal in the very heart of Cairns. We know you're here to relax so we offer a special late departure for greater flexibility with your other holiday activities.

Hours of operation

Available Daily. Check-in begins at 8:30am, Check-in closes: 9.15am, boat departs at approximately 9:30am, and returns at approximately 5:30pm. This cruise is not available January 21 – February 7.

Additional Information Activities and onboard purchases are available for additional charges and may be booked upon arrival. Optional on board purchases include: Prescription mask hire (strength -8 to +8) $5.00 rental + $50.00 deposit, Stinger Suit Hire $5.00, Wet Suit Hire $10.00, Secure Locker Hire $6.00. Optional on board Activities include: Certified and Introductory Diving, Seawalker® Platform Helmet Diving (Please note that any form of diving is subject to a medical checklist), and Guided Snorkel Tours with a Marine Biologist, and Scenic Helicopter Flights are also available and may be booked onboard. Guests should bring the following items: Swimmers, hat, sunscreen, towel, money for optional tours, souvenirs, drinks or ice-cream, change of dry clothes and your camera.
