The California Wine Country is less than an hour’s drive away from San Francisco and it is one of the most beautiful and popular sightseeing opportunities when visiting San Francisco. Our Muir Woods & Wine Country Tour combination is a great way to see two of the most popular San Francisco sights! Tour guests can enjoy the morning exploring the spectacular Redwood Sequoia trees at Muir Woods, then relax in the afternoon while our tour guide introduces the group to the California Wine Country. This tour includes three wine tastings and visits small boutique Sonoma and Napa wineries as well as famous Sonoma Plaza spending 45 minutes or more at each tasting stop. All our wine tasting is complimentary! Gourmet cheese tasting where available. The tour also includes an optional stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. This tour is ideal for both the first time wine taster and those with a prized wine cellar full of fine wines.

San Francisco Bay Cruise: San Francisco Bay Cruise has various departures, so there is always a cruise convenient to your sightseeing schedule. The San Francisco Bay Cruise tour takes about an hour navigating the waters of the San Francisco Bay. Departing from the Pier, you’ll start your bay cruise from the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, sailing past Aquatic Park, where swimmers brave the cold ocean water, and Hyde Street Pier, home to historic vessels. Cruising west, towards the Golden Gate Bridge, you’ll take in Fort Mason and the Marina district. Further west are former army installations, Crissy Field, a historic army airfield now turned grassy promenade, and the Presidio, offering forests, trails, views, and architecture. The highlight of your vacation just may be sailing directly underneath the 4200 foot span of the 746 foot tall Golden Gate Bridge. As you head back, you’ll cruise past the breathtaking wildlife reserves of the Marin Headlands and quaint town of Sausalito. The San Francisco Bay Cruise travels between Angel Island (on your left) and the infamous Alcatraz Island, former home to America’s most notorious criminals. On your way back to the dock, you’ll see the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Coit Tower perched on top of Telegraph Hill. A full bar with drinks, snacks, and merchandise are also available. This San Francisco Bay Cruise is an ideal way to enjoy spectacular views of San Francisco, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge! No San Francisco vacation is complete without a cruise on the bay.

Hours of operation

Tour is available daily and departs approx. 7:30am-7:45am. Wineries are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. San Francisco Bay Cruise Tours operate daily and the ferryboat leaves from the Pier starting at 10am every morning.

Duration

Tour is 9 hours. San Francisco Bay Cruise tours take about an hour around the bay area.

Participant restrictions

Minimum age for tours is 18 months. For children's safety, we require tour guests to bring a car safety seat for all children under the age of 6 or weighing less than 60 pounds.

Policies

A valid ID is required for wine tasting. You must call EXTRANOMICAL ADVENTURES to confirm your pick-up time and location, at least 48 hours prior to tour date. Hotel pickups commence prior to this time, exact pickup time will be advised on reconfirmation.
Please be ready at least 10 minutes prior to your pick-up time. Complete information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, will be included on your Confirmation Voucher.

Additional Information

Driver/guide narration is in English. Audio tours available in: English, Spanish ,German, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Mandarin. Please specify audio tour and foreign language needed at time of booking. Customer needs to bring a $20 security deposit per audio set on the day of tour. Customer will receive the money back at the end of the day when returning the audio tour.
