Jump aboard a helicopter, fly past the rugged Remarkables mountain range and arrive for your Kawarau rafting trip in style! Then test your sense of adventure by paddling your way down the crystal clear waters of the Kawarau River and through its four white-water rapids.

Rafting through Lord of the Rings scenery you’ll pass the Pillars of the Kings known in the movie as the ‘Anduin River.’ Keep a look out for Bungy jumpers as you raft under the original Bungy Bridge, AJ Hackett’s Kawarau Bungy.

The Grand Finale is the unforgettable 400 metre Dog Leg Rapid which ends your trip on New Zealand’s largest volume commercially rafted river.

Inclusion

Hotel pickup and drop off (selected hotels only). Spectacular helicopter flight to the rafting launch site next to the Kawarau River. White water rafting down the Kawarau River. Full wetsuit clothing and rafting equipment. Hot showers and sauna at the rafters lodge.

Available daily. Departs: 8:15am and 1:00pm.

Duration

Half Day (Approximately 4-5 hours).

Additional Information All you need to bring is swimwear and a towel. In the winter months you can wear thermals underneath the wet suits for extra warmth.

Participant restrictions

Participants must be at least 13 years of age. Those under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian Those under 18 years must have signed parent/guardian consent MINIMUM weight of 40 KG for Rafting. Basic swimming skills are required for everyone participating in white water rafting. Pregnant women are unable to participate in any of these activities. If you have any previous neck or back injuries please provide details.

Policies All combo/rafting trips require a minimum number of passengers for departures. Bookings will be accepted for numbers less than the required minimum number on the basis that bookings will be coordinated to achieve minimum numbers. A child waiver form must be signed by a guardian. Forms supplied at time of travel. Access to raft the Shotover River in winter is by helicopter only (June 1 -September 15 approx.) All tours operate weather permitting. Guests wanting to make changes are required to contact reservations at least 48 hours prior to departure.
