General

Forbes Island is actually a man-made island not far from San Francisco's land, a restaurant that offers you a unique quiet dining experience surrounded by waters. If you're tired of the city's noise or if you have friends in town/visiting, Forbes Island might be just the place to go. Mr. Forbes himself will drive you to his private floating island where you can get a special view of San Francisco Bay, Coit Tower and the Golden Gate. Although it is located at the wharf, the restaurant is not touristy, so you could think about making a reservation for Valentine's day, New Years Eve, a surprise birthday party, or even for your wedding if 'just for fun' is not enough for you.

May we remind you: this is a floating island! Some say they enjoy the gentle rock of the ocean, while some others got terrible sick from the ocean's swing. So if you're seasick, you should probably think twice before getting on that boat. Also you should know that although the island is swimming distance from the dock, you will be charged for the boat trip with an extra fee added to your dinning bill. But once you get on the island, be sure you give yourself plenty of time to wander around and climb the light house tower. It's really worth the view.

Forbes Island is more then a delightful restaurant experience. Forbes Island is a destination! So turn your back to the city's fuss and enjoy this slightly kitschy, but elegant experience.
