Good coffee is hard to find, so there will be no excuses on this Arusha tour as you're doing the roasting and grinding yourself! Spend a day in a coffee-growing village just outside of Arusha, where you'll enjoy lunch with locals and an intro into how coffee gets from the field to your cup. Explore the village of Tengeru, which is situated just outside Arusha. Enjoy a walking tour through the village to get an up close look at local farming life. Enjoy a lunch of local specialties at a local family's home. Learn to roast and grind your own coffee, then sample the product of your hard work!

Itinerary After meeting your local guide and having a brief introduction to the day, your Arusha village tour will begin! Catch a local bus to Tengeru, a village located 20 minutes from Arusha, and on arrival, take a walk through the narrow village roads and mingle with locals as they go about their daily lives. Before lunch, you'll witness coffee and other crops being farmed, and then you'll get to sample local cuisine with lunch at a local family's home. With your tummies full of deliciousness, it'll be time to try your hand at roasting and grinding your own coffee! When it's all done, you'll get to sample a refreshing cup of your own brew before hopping back on the public bus to return to Arusha.

This is a child-friendly tour. Children between the ages of 6 and 11 inclusively are permitted on this tour. Children younger than 6 are permitted at no extra cost, but please make sure you inform our guides of this before you take the tour.

Additional Information Dress standards are conservative throughout Africa. To respect this, and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means covering shoulders and no short shorts. We recommend a mixture of loose, lightweight clothing and warm clothing for the evenings. Shorts should be knee-length. Singlets and tank tops are not suitable. Topless sun bathing is unacceptable.

Policies You are required to be at the reception of the Impala Hotel by 9:00am for a brief introduction meeting from your tour guide. This tour is offered on a "join-in" basis. Maximum group size is 12. If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed. We'll see you at the start point. Complete information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, will be included on your Confirmation Voucher.
