Angel Island’s former Immigration Station, known as the “Ellis Island of the West” was the first stop for millions of Pacific Basin, Asian and Russian immigrants entering the United States. Seasonal Angel Island services include mountain bike rentals, a one-hour audio-enhanced Tram Tour and refreshments at the Cove Café.

Hours of operation

Available April 28, 2014 - October 26, 2014. Departures are throughout the day, and vary depending on season and holidays. Monday through Friday: Departs Ferry Building at 9:15am; Departs Pier 41 at 9:45am and 1:05pm. Weekends & Holidays: Departs Ferry Building at 9:20am and 11:20am. Departs Pier 41 at 9:45am, 11:45am and 2:20pm.

One-way approximately 20 minutes.

Policies Only service animals allowed. Scooters, skateboards & rollerskates/blades are not allowed on the island. No private Segways allowed on the ferry. It is recommended that guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of their tour during fall/winter tour seasons. It is recommended for guests to arrive at least 25-30 minutes prior to their scheduled tours during the spring/summer tour seasons. An additional 5-10 minutes are requested if special attention is required. All tours operate weather permitting.
