Hotel description

Compared to its high-profile neighbor, the Philippe Starck-designed Faena, the Hotel Madero is downright sedate, just a humble business hotel as opposed to a “universe” and a comprehensive lifestyle program. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, and frankly the world would be a better place if more humble business hotels came in the style of the Madero. This is a quieter strain of modern hotel design, a hotel that’s expertly made and compellingly designed but never shocking — run by Sofitel, it’s perhaps analogous to a well-made studio film, as against the brash New Wave auteur production down the road.

The rooms are crisp, smart, equipped with just about everything the modern business traveler could want, from wireless internet access and laptop safes to diversions like flat-screen satellite televisions and sweeping city views. The Madero is no spa retreat, but does feature indoor and outdoor pools, as well as massage, sauna, and a well-equipped gym. And while nightlife is hardly the Hotel Madero’s mission, the hotel’s contemporary French/Argentinian restaurant and the Blue and White bars are more than up to the task — and the surrounding neighborhood, the sleek riverfront development of Puerto Madero, is home to any number of worthy options.

How to get there:

Hotel Madero is approximately a 20 minute drive from Jorge Newbery Domestic Airport and a 40 minute drive from Ezeiza International Airport.
