General

For a long time Marken was a small fishing village in the north part of the Netherlands, but once it was connected to the mainland, it became an attraction. The village kept its traditions and the original atmosphere, with beautiful wooden houses. You can often see the people of Marken wearing traditional costumes, preserving their customs and entertaining the tourists.
