La Gomera - Januar 2009

With a maximum height of 1487 meters, dropping steep into the sea, the island is mostly mountainous. The landscape here is unique and one region, La Garajonay was even declared a national park. Plants that have only survived in this area, dense forests, springs and many other beauties are waiting to be discovered.

The rural villages are another unique aspect, as the traditions here are very old and are still to these days kept.

The last volcanic eruption was more than two million years ago, and the landscape has been continuously changing since then. The island's mountains are perfect for those who love hiking.
