People on beach, North Lewis

Lewis is not exactly an island, as it shares a mountainous land border with Harris in south.

The island's history dates back thousands of years. Gaelic is still spoken here, alongside English, people kept alive their traditions and they are very friendly and welcoming.

Stornoway is the main town on the island and approximately 6,000 people live here. The town offers a lot of facilities for tourists, having a golf course, Go-Carting and even a paintball area. During the summer time, cruises around the area are available.
