This resort between Bergen and Oslo has grown in popularity because of the good snow, the wide range of skiing possibilities and the great apres ski. Hemsedal is the second largest ski resort in Norway with a highest elevation of 1,920 meters above sea level. The resort has two ski centers: Hemsedal Ski Resort and Solheisen Ski Center in Grøndalen, which include 24 lifts and 51 slopes and park areas.

From November and until early May, the conditions for practicing winter sports are perfect. From skiing, snowboarding to dog and horse sledging and ice climbing, you can choose from a wide range of sports.

If you're traveling with children, you should know that Hemsedal has Norway's largest children’s ski area with a total area of 70 000 square meters. This ski area includes 7 slopes, 8 lifts and a minipark with small jumps and different elements.

There are also opportunities for those looking for a challenge. The off-piste stretches for 130 kilometers and the resort itself offers other activities to keep everyone amused from dog-sledding to kite-skiing.
