Mountain biking: An increasing number of travel agents provide full-day cycling tours to several interesting destinations. Chiang Mai's mountainous terrain and scenic destinations make the province perfect for both cycling and mountain biking. Many tour companies offer biking tour programmes that include guides, food and overnight equipment. The tours usually head north from the 700 Years Stadium through the Mae Sa Valley. Alternatively, it is possible to experience the scenery along Mae Ping River, which flows peacefully through villages, past old temples, farms and fields of rice. For those who are serious about cycling, a longer route to Chiang Rai is available which includes visits to small villages of Lahu, Lisu and Akha hill tribes.

Chiang Mai Rafting: Chiang Mai provides good opportunities for rafting using bamboo or rubber rafts, as there are many rivers and streams flowing through lush forests and hill tribe settlements in the province. For example, Rafting down the Mae Chaem through Ob Luang George in inflatable boats is available through Mae Sot Travel. Another challenging route is the Mae Tuen in Omkoi District, where the river rushes through virgin forests to end at the Pha Dam Waterfall. No rubber raft is available at the site, so it’s best to book a trip with a tour agent in Chiang Mai.

Itinerary We'll pick you up at your hotel in Chiangmai and drive up the Northern route to Mae Teang area. At the elephants camp, have a fun-filled activity of elephant riding through the jungle along the riverside. Then continue by mountain biking from the local village through dirt road and beautiful forest about 10 kms[up to you] to our camp. Lunch and a short break, then our staff will brief you about instruction on paddling and river safety to prepare you and your friends for the upcoming excitement, then you are off to the longest and best rafting trip on the Mae Teang river.

After some recreation and refresh yourself at the finish point, take a 1.30 hours’ drive back to your hotel.
