The fountain was a donation on the memory of Clarence Buckingham, from his sister, Kate Buckingham and it represents Lake Michigan. It runs every day from mid-April to mid-October, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. During the 20 minute water show, 14,000 U.S. gallons per minute (0.88 m3/s) are pushed through the 193 jets.
