Available: Daily. Departs: Paihia Wharf B - 8:00am & 12:30pm; Russell Wharf - 8:10am & 12:40pm.

Location The Bay of Islands is a 3 hour drive from Auckland. Take the Northern Motorway towards Orewa. Follow State Highway 1 North to Whangarei. Use the bypass and continue north on SH 1 to Kawakawa, then straight onto State Highway 11 to Opua/Paihia.

Policies *Once we find a pod of dolphins, Department of Conservation regulations will determine whether a swim is possible. Swimming is optional; you need to be a confident swimmer. Dolphin Discoveries operates with a Department of Conservation permit. However for the protection of Dolphins and other marine mammals, interaction with them is governed by the Marine Mammal Protection Act. If the conditions of the Act are not met or the sea conditions are not safe then trips will be viewing only. Minimum of 4 passengers required per trip.
