Øresundsbroen in Danish or Öresundsbron in Swedish, this is the largest combined road and rail bridge in Europe, crossing the Oresund strait. It has a total length of 7,845 metres (25,738 ft) and a width of 23.5 metres (77.1 ft). Its construction began in 1995 and it was finished on 14 August 1999. Sometimes the bridges is refered to as Öresund Link, as it comprises a bridge, an island, and an underwater tunnel.
It is a quick and easy way to travel between these two countries. In 2007, almost 25 million people crossed the bridge: 15.2 million by car and bus, and 9.6 million by train.
