Highlights / General details

You can choose for yourself what you would like to do. Among our activities we offer you: Canyon Canopy Tour, Rio Negro Tubing Adventure Pass, Horseback Riding to the Oropendola Waterfalls, Rio Negro Hot Springs, Hiking inside the National Park Rincon de la Vieja, whatever you like.

-Canyon Canopy Tour This Tour starts with a short walk from the hotel “adventure centre” to the first canopy platform where, after a short briefing, the magic and exiting experience begins. Our canopy is the only one in the country that takes you in to a canyon and over a turbulent river. Imagine yourself rappelling, rock climbing, doing canopy, Tarzan swings, via ferrata and hanging bridges, all set in the majestic canyon made by the erosion of the Río Blanco during millions of years. This amazing trip will let you enjoy a great variety of vegetation, birds, mammal’s reptiles and much more. You may count on 12 cable “rides”, 24 platforms, 2 climbing walls, a hanging bridge, via ferrata rappel, swing seats and a lot of adrenaline.

-Río Negro Tubing Adventure After a horse ride of 45 minutes through the forest we arrive at the changing rooms where we can prepare us for the tubing adventure. After a short walk, we arrive at the foot of the Victoria waterfall, where we’ll have a short briefing about security. Then everyone gets his proper rafting “tube” to make the adrenaline in your body seek its way out, while you have to navigate through the rapids of the crystal clear Río Negro. Afterwards we go to the change rooms again before the horses take us to the Hacienda.

-Horseback Riding to the Oropéndola Waterfalls The Oropéndola waterfall is a very impressive 82 feet high natural shower. The emerald green water invites for a refreshing dive. The waterfall is located in a beautiful vegetated canyon which beauty you’ll enjoy. From the hotel we take a scenic trail by horse. At the end of the trail we have to make a little walk to get to the canyon. Although the last part of the trail is easy, it can’t be done by horse. At the waterfall we have a large break before we go back to the hotel by horse.

-Río Negro Hot Springs The road takes us to the banks of the Río Negro, where you find three pools with thermal waters from the volcanic hot springs, crystal clear and all natural, for the source is nearby, refilling the pools all the time with water. After having enjoyed a delicious and healthy therapeutic bath, it’s time to mount up again and take the way to the Hacienda.

-Hiking at the “Pailas” Trail (Rincón de la Vieja National Park) At this, more or less, circular trail with a length of about 2 miles, you can enjoy the most volcanic activity without climbing the main crater. Also here you can find a great variety of vegetation and trees, like the Guanacaste (Elephant ear tree), Cedro amargo (cigar box cedar), Laurel (Laurel) and the Indio desnudo (Gumbo-limbo) among others. You can meet with mammals like the mapache (raccoon), the pizote solo (white nosed coati) and guatusas (Central American agouti). The already mentioned birds, the Pájaro Bobo (Blue-crowned Motmot), the Jilguero de montaña (Mountain finch) and the Tucancillo (Emerald Toucanet). You’ll find small waterfalls, rapids, volcanic mud pools, hot springs, fumaroles and the “volcancito” (little volcano).Transport from the hotel to the main gate and back by car.
