This tours takes you to Guimarães known as the birthplace of Portugal. Nowadays, Guimarães has the unique ability of combining the past with the present in perfect harmony and it holds numerous events every year. In 2012 it was the European Capital of Culture, being now in 2013 the European Capital of Sports.

The tour begins in the Medieval Castle of Guimarães, where the Battle for the creation of the Nation was actually fought between mother and son. Behind the Castle you will visit a small church where it is believed that the first King of Portugal was baptized. The visit proceeds to the City Centre, which is considered by UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity for the unique morphology. The streets and monuments of Guimarães are so well preserved and vivid that they allow you to easily experience a scene from the past.

This city has a very charm and personality and you will have the opportunity to feel it!

Policies Tour available in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. Children younger than 5 years old may participate for free. Our tours are shared in a 9 seat mini bus (8 guests plus 1 guide). We do take single bookings but we only operate each service with a minimum of 2 people.
