The Heard Museum is a private, non-profit organization that was founded by Dwight B. and Maie Bartlett Heard, a prominent Phoenix couple that moved to the Valley in 1895 from Chicago. The Heard opened the museum in 1929 in order to share their exemplary collection of primarily American Indian artifacts and art. The Heard Museum is world famous for its extensive collections of American Indian cultural art and fine art, unique exhibits, special events and innovative programming.

Museum Galleries – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday Museum Shop & Berlin Gallery – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday Courtyard Café – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Sunday Coffee Cantina – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday Books & More – 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday The Heard Museum, the Heard Museum Shop, the Berlin Gallery and the Café at the Heard Museum are open 364 days a year Closed on 2013: February 9, 10, March 3, 4, December 25

Children 5 years and younger are admitted free of charge. American Indians (with tribal ID) are admitted free.

Policies Guest is responsible for own transportation to and from attractions. Cell phones and pagers must be silenced while inside the museum. Backpacks, food or beverages are not permitted in the exhibit spaces. Locker storage for these items is provided free of charge. No flash, video light or tripods are allowed in the galleries.
