Volcano

Today it's one of the ten most active volcanoes in the world, but before 1968 it wasn't even known that it is active. The 1968 eruption destroyed Tabacón, a small town lying at the base of the volcano, and it created three more craters.

It's a fascinating sight to visit, but too dangerous to be climbed. The perfect conic shape offers amazing views of the volcanic action. Red-hot rocks tumble down its slopes almost on a daily basis, producing ash columns above the crater.
