This tour offers an ideal introduction to the heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi city. Departing from our hotel in the morning we drive approximately 2 hours to reach Abu Dhabi, our first stop is the fascinating Sheikh Zayed Mosque for an inside visit. Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. It is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the first President of the United Arab Emirates, who is also buried at this location. The Mosque is large enough to accommodate 40,000 worshippers. The main prayer hall can accommodate up to 9,000 worshippers. Two rooms next to the main prayer hall, with a 1,500-capacity each, are for the exclusive use of women. After your mosque visit continue the drive to see the Heritage Village, here culture and traditions of the Emirate are reflected in recreated village scenes that provide a glimpse into the simple life and times before the discovery of oil. You can see mud-brick houses, a traditional mosque and a market. * This tour has the option of either lunch at the Emirates palace hotel with a supplement. Clients who do not book lunch option will be dropped off at a shopping mall for the while).

Participant restrictions

Children under the age of 4 years of age are free of charge. Visitors must be dressed appropriately on arrival; if not, entry will be denied. Modest, conservative, loose fitting clothing; long sleeves, long skirts and trousers. No transparent (see-through) clothing. No transparent (see-through) clothing. No tight clothing, no swimwear and no beachwear. Shoes will be removed before entering the mosque, so we recommend slip off shoes. Headscarf for ladies is essential (these can be provided when you arrive). Intimate behavior; i.e. holding hands or kissing is not acceptable in a Muslim place of worship. For safety and respect to worshippers, visitors should stay within the areas of the mosque that are permitted and not roam freely around. Smoking and food are not allowed in the mosque area. Visitors are requested not to touch the Holy Quran (Holy Book) and other architectural elements inside the main prayer hall. ALL women will be asked to wear a traditional robe (abaya) and headscarf (shayla) before entering the mosque. Guests may wear their own, however, must be closed (not open abayas) and non-transparent. Children are to be supervised at all times by parents. Personal safety must be observed at all times. (Note: The architecture includes several reflective pools and should be avoided at all times by children).

Policies This tour is conducted in English only. Minimum number of persons for the excursion is 4 persons. Excursions operated from Hotels outside the City Limits are subject to surcharge and the supplement will be advised on a case to case basis. You will be advised of redemption instructions & pick up time after confirmation is received by the supplier.
