One of the most important Phoenician cities lies just 43 kilometers (25 miles) south of Beirut. Evidence shows that Sidon was inhabited since 4000 BC. A city with many cultural influences, where you can today visit ruins of fortresses, the temple of Eshmoun and the Castle of the Sea.
