I liked

-food in the old city of Damascus -endless streets full of shops, scenes and people (you don't necessarily need to buy stuff to enjoy them) -the preservation office in the old city - well preserved, beautiful gardens and architecture, and free of charge! (I don't exactly remember where it was, but it was close to Bab Tuma Square) -art galleries around the city

I disliked

-shops with fake souvenirs and overpriced items -some rude people staring at you for A LONG TIME while you are walking on the street

I liked

great,wonderful historical city but matter of great regret that due to Bashar's obstinate, stubborne attitude this historically holy and oldest city is going to be ruined. what a irony of fate for the Muslims.
