Hotel description

About No. 11 London:

r />No. 11 London is a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of London's fashionable Knightsbridge district. Just a stones throw from the River Thames, Hyde Park and an array of attractions, No.11 London has been recently refurbished to combine the latest facilities and technologies with the architectural features and style of a romantic bygone era.

Tablet Hotels review:

The London hotel scene is something of a proving ground for new trends in the hotel business — but you’d have to look long and hard at No. 11 London to find any evidence of progress. This is a hotel that delights in keeping to the trailing edge rather than the cutting one, a small monument to old-fashioned hospitality and a reminder of a time long past.

This is the original Chelsea townhouse hotel, comprising four old Victorian houses facing a garden square just off Sloane Street, midway between Harrods and Sloane Square. Reception is informal, just a butler and a guest book, and the bedrooms are as charming as can be, stocked with antique furnishings, fine fabrics, and Molton Brown products in the elegant marble bathrooms. All rooms are individually decorated, and vary in layout as well; some upper-floor suites face out the back, looking over a private garden.

A dining room decorated in breezy blue and white serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and afternoon tea is taken in the drawing room, followed by sherry and canapes in the early evening. Of course your dining options extend beyond the No. 11 London kitchen; cafés and restaurants abound up and down Sloane Street and Kings Road, as do shops of every conceivable variety. From here a trip to Harrods is practically obligatory, and the Victoria and Albert and the Natural History and Science museums lie just beyond.
