Hotel description

If Hvar is going to be the next St. Tropez—that would be the young and ultra-hip St. Tropez of the Sixties, not the current, slightly faded version—then it’s going to need a few very stylish hotels. And they’re working on it. Sister to the Riva, already a mainstay on the boutique-hotel scene, the Adriana is a Seventies-vintage seaside lodging, totally made over in contemporary design-boutique style, with a generous helping of luxury mixed in, the better to serve the yacht-borne clientele of the Croatian Riviera.

Guest rooms are very modern, slightly minimal, all hardwoods and frosted glass, full of modern gadgetry, fine linens and high-end bath products. The location, right on the promenade by the marina, makes for excellent views. And as chic as the rooms may be, it’s in the public spaces that the Adriana really shines—the rooftop pool deck is ideal for al fresco lounging in the summer months, and a convertible roof keeps it habitable in winter. With a stylish Mediterranean restaurant and an indoor-outdoor spa, it’s certainly a complete enough hotel. But it doesn’t have to stand on its own: the scene in the surrounding Hvar town, after all, is ultimately why you’re here.

How to get there:

Adriana Hotel is accessible by ferry or speedboat from Split Kaštela/Resnik Airport. The Split Harbour speedboat is approximately a 2 hour trip to Hvar City while the Split Ferry is 3 hours and 45 minutes. Adriana Hotel is 100 meters from the Hvar city square.
