The island gets really crowded during the summer months, people from all over coming to enjoy its beaches and crystal clear waters. In the hot sun of the afternoon, the shadow of the pine forest provides perfect shelter.
Skiathos has one main settlement which is the capital and the main port, Skiathos Town. Here you'll find many restaurants, shops, bars and all tourist facilities you need. The island developed a lot in time and became very touristy. Along with it, the nightlife also became very intense and lively. Many of the clubs are in the capital town, but there are also some nice bars in the resorts.
