There's a legend saying that the wife of King David, Bathsheba, used to bathe in milk and the foamy waters of the Atlantic resemble her bath. Apparently this is where the village got its name.
Today, the beach in Bathsheba is a favourite between locals and surfers all over the world, as it hosts annual surfing competitions.
