Yasur volcano

Located on the remote island of Tanna, in Vanuatu, this is one of the most accessible active volcanoes in the world. You can reach it by car and after a ten minute hike you've reached the top. The lava explosions are more spectacular during night time, but you can visit it any time of day and of the year. It would be best to get a local guide, if climbing volcanoes is not your thing.

Because of it's regular Strombolian eruptions (low-level volcanic eruptions, small in volume) Yasur it's often called the "Lighthouse of the Pacific".
