The Viking Ship Museum (Vikingskipshuset)

The museum itself was especially built to host the Viking ships and was designed by a famous Norwegian architect in 1927. It displays three of the best preserved Viking ships known, found in the Oslo fjord. They are Oseberg, Gokstad and Tune. Beside these three, there are also on display other ships found around the fjord and different tools, utensils and ornaments.

The museum is situated on the Bygdøy peninsula, which is only a ten minutes drive from Oslo's center.

It is closed on the 1st of January, Good Friday, Easter Eve, Easter Sunday, 24-26 December, 31 December.
