General

Between April and October, the world's most stylish train offers the ultimate luxurious experience to its selected passengers. A number of only 36 guest can get on board of the Royal Scotsman, on a trip that could easily buy you a car. The Scottish train is ran by Orient-Express Hotels Ltd., and is composed of 2 dinning cars, one crew car, one observation car (from the open veranda that was built in 1960 you can enjoy the panorama changing view) and 5 state cars. Sixteen twin and four single State Cabins are fully equipped with dressing table, full-length wardrobe, individually controlled heating, cooling ceiling fans, opening windows and a cabin service call button. Also, hot water, shower, wash-basin and toilet facilities are available individually for each cabin. When the night falls down, the train pulls over so you can get a good night rest, without the annoying tremble and the tedious noise of a train ride.

This is more of a expensive-five-star-hotel-on-wheels experience, so formal dinners are on the menu every second night. Yes, you will have to wear your tuxedo or your cocktail dress on the train! A local clansman will tell you legends and tales that will complete your Scottish cultural experience and will fulfill the taste of the fines whiskeys.

Depending on how much you're willing to pay for this eccentric experience, but also on the route you choose, you can book 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 nights on the train covered in luxurious fabrics and mahogany paneling. Prices start with €2630 per person for a couple of days, but remember, this is a two-in-one experience that combines accommodation with sightseeing, in the most expensive train in the world!
