„Quo vadis, Domine?” (Where are you going, Lord?) St. Peter asked Jesus when they met on Via Appia as Peter was fleeing from likely crucifixion in Rome. This question followed by Jesus' answer "Vado Romam venio iterum crucifigi" (I am going to Rome to be crucified again) changed his life forever.
Que Vadis Café in Cluj Napoca is more than a cafe. Quo Vadis is a place where questions are being raised and where thinkers of all ages are invited to taste a delicious cup of fair-trade coffee, tea, or, why not, one of the great cocktails. This cafe is really trying to make people think! Think about the world of ideas, about where they stand in their own life, and about the small choices that will change lives and even bring a difference in the world.
Many events of all sorts (arts, music, film previews, business, globalization, poetry, cultural evening etc.) were held in this cafe close to Simion Barnuțiu Central Park. A program called History Makers was open to a limited number of participants. The project focused on "worldview" and invited its participants to discus with different special guests on certain topics, or to get involved in organizing various events.
Even the artistic decor of the cafe is an open invitation to personal meditation.
But this is not only a place where guests are invited to explore perspectives on life! This is a place where guests can drink one of the best teas in town. The home-made cakes are a real treat. No alcohol is served and smoking is forbidden, Quo Vadis being one of the very few non-smoking cafes in Cluj Napoca.
Whether you are looking for a quiet place to read a book, for an intimate café to take our your girlfriend or just for a good cup of tea to enjoy in the company of friends, Quo Vadis might just be the right place! So, Qvo Vadis? — Where are you going?

I likedI have been a faithful customer of Quo Vadis since 2005, when I was desperately looking for a non-smoking cafe in Cluj.Quo Vadis came to my rescue as smoking was then and still is a grave threat to public health in Cluj.Quo Vadis is a concept. When they designed it, the owners surely had people in mind. The atmosphere is unique, peaceful, the music is soothing and the service excellent. Quo Vadis also serves a wonderful apple pie, my usual order! Their fruit teas are very tasty. It has my highest recommendation.
I dislikedThe fact that they are closed on Mondays and for a whole month in summer.
I likedNon smoking place. They have all sorts of cookies and cakes. They have a library. Fair amount of teas to choose from although not enough.
I dislikedOnce I've been given Earl Grey instead of some other black tea.
