McKinnon Pass

The most famous destination in New Zealand and one of the best known fjords in the word, accessible by road. You will not only be impressed by the beauty of the fjord, but also the journey is incredible. You'll pass through unspoiled mountain landscapes and the 1.2 kilometer Homer Tunnel.

The rock walls rise as high as 1517 meters (4977 feet) above the water and they continue to plunge down until they reach the floor, at depths of 100-450 meters, where a unique and fascinating underwater life exists.
